Although it's never made it to America, there's also an anime in Japan that was named Twinbee, although this game and the anime series do not seem to be related. The graphics are so nice and colorful! They really look good for their time! Like R-Type, there is a beam that can be charged up to a devastating blast when the fire button is held. I'll be sure to mention this in my party!

It's interesting that the PCE version was programmed by Koji Igarashi, who later went on to serve as producer of the recent Castlevania games.
