Playing around with my new bench test amp (Crown XLS 1000) that I picked up at the Parts Express tent sale (PE Tent Sale FTW!). Lightning Audio Storm X2.H10.V4 on a Crown XLS 1000 bridged @ 4 ohms (1100rms). Showing the massive excursion capabilities of the TC Sounds built Lightning Audio Storm series subwoofers.

  • how much did you get that amp for at the tent sale? Also how does it power your sub, i am looking to get this amp sometime

  • I paid just under $240. Worth ever penny of the $299 price tag though. Quality is a huge step up from my old Behinger, for around the same price. Power per watt and for the quality, its hard to beat. Plenty of clean power & tons of crossover points (both HP, LP and HP/LP). Has never got even remotely warm. Purchased it to power my Audiopulse LM10D2 and has been running at 3 ohms bridged for a while now, with no issues. There is a good chance I will pick up a XLS 2000 here shortly.

  • @WorldsDeepestBass Too late now, i bought the crown xls 1000 almost 7 months ago lol, plus I bet the American Audio amp is highly overrated with it's power ratings and my crown has a great 3 year warranty

  • i ordered the crown amp, powers 900 watts rms of subs in my room with ease, cant wait to try it out with my dj stuff, thanks for the help

  • (part 2 of 2) The Crown XLS 1000 has a built in crossover with tons of x-over points for both LP, HP and bandpass. Once you factor in the price of the crossover there is minimal difference in price between the EP2000 and the XLS 1500 (which does 1550rms bridged @ 4 ohms). So you get the same amount of real world power and a much much more reliable amp. To answer your question, I think the XLS 1000 is a better buy then the EP2000 even though it does slightly more power (and not as clean)

  • (Part 1 of 2) I have had my Behinger for about two years (give or take) and its "decent". It does not do rated power IMHO, you will probably only get 1500rms out of the EP2000. Also if you plan on using the Behinger EP2000 to power a subwoofer, you will need to purchase an active x-over like the Behinger CX2310 which cost ~$80.

  • Sick, subs have ridiculous excursion!

  • oh dude, that is sweet
