  • Most Americans still think that China is a 3rd world country. Everyone should see this.

  • A lot of Chinese think their country's 3rd world too. Especially those outside of Beijing, Shanghai, Shandong, etc. Mmm massive financial inequality.

  • Dongtan is a korean city......

  • It's fantastic what China are doing here. I am fortunate to get to study this city for my Geography GCSE. This city is an example, I wish more English cities would follow.

  • @ShamanWS6 A rendered video of a concept which has been abolished. Great. I think you could find someone doing that in Ethiopia too.

  • Look up "eminent domain", UK government can evict you outta your home if they really want to.

  • It was my DREAMLAND 30 years ago. Our island have fertal lands and boutiful resouces. We can grow or raise everything for our daily needs. Sky is clear and water is clean. Our island grows bigger as our population increases. We do NOT need any progression to impose a city on our land. period.

Plan your eco-city in YOUR back yard.

  • I loled

  • white man's jealousy of china's progress cause them to piss in their sleep

  • Its worth pointing out that in order to build Dongtan, many Chinese farmers are being evicted from their farms, many of which have been in their family for generations. As usual, the image China likes to portray to the rest of the world is far more rosy than what happens behind the scenes. Before the rest of the world starts slapping China on the back for being progressive, we need to remember the appalling state of its human rights abuses which is far worse than many 3rd world countries.

  • Its worth remembering that in order to build Dongtan, many Chinese farmers are being forcibly removed from their farms, some of which have been in their family for generations. So everything is not quite as rosy as it seems. China is going though some very exciting growth but they must learn to look after their citizens and look at the state of their human rights (which unfortunately is very much worse than many 3rd world countries).
