Here is an old-school jobber squash captured on 8 MM film. Sorry, there is no audio. Does any one recognize the two wrestlers? Is the heel Stan "The Lariat" Hansen? Whoever he is, he applies a nice long Bearhug at 4:34 followed by a Backbreaker at 5:45.

  • great video, but great music too.

    what song is this?

  • @makant157 The music is one of the sample "AudioSwap" songs that YouTube offers. It was in the "Metal" category but I don't remember which one I picked!

  • Is that a young Terry Taylor?

  • A lot of fine wrestling for a "jobber" match....speaking of wrestling being "fake' well...a lot of people outside doing this in that "backyard" wrestling are injuring themselves selves seriously...naturally anything done in the ring is not to deliberately hurt one another but there are accidents...I didn't know this but Gorilla Monsoon was wrestling with minor injuries and that is why he didn't do what he did as a younger man all over the mat and why his matches were fairly short ...

  • damn ref should have been fired for being ion hte way of that bearhug

  • in the late 70s, a guy in normal, il, sold 8mm tapes of matches he'd shot. awesome collection it was either $12 a ft or per minute. he was extremely generous showing tapes to prospective buyers in his home. among mine was young flair vs paul diamond, very hot! i've haven't seen it on youtube. heard he became promoter in peoria. this looks like one of his.

  • @TXFightingCowBoy I do believe you are right! I thought the jobber was Gilbert but I couldnt figure out who Ed was!

  • The headlock sequence is a great example of how wrestling should be. Notice they take what a lot of people term a rest hold and keep it interesting. Small things such as the pinfall attempt and the hands in the hair every minute or so keeps the fans attentions while letting the wrestlers work a slower pace. Stuff like this is one reason wrestlers in the old days were able to wrestle literally seven days a week and not end up crippled like todays 4 day a week guys.

  • The Jobber is Eddie Gilbert and the STUD is Ed Wiskowski aka Col DeBeers out of the NW Territory!!!

  • Is the jobber Tommy Wright?

  • The big guy is "Easy" Ed Wiskoski, later known as Colonel DeBeers. No clue who the other guy is. Mid-to-late '70s would be my guess.

  • @DavidFullam it is big Ed bud!!! Good Call!!
