A northbound and a southbound Acela pass at the Seabrook MARC station. The reason the southbound was going so slow was because it was closely following the nonstop MARC from the previous video. In fact, it was so close behind that train that it had to stop for a moment at the signals north of the station.

  • A rare and wonderful shot! Nice find!

  • Thanks! I was never expecting to catch something like this.

  • I would love to see an acela at full blast!!!!

  • LOVE THE SPEED AND ITS SAFETY-GO ACELA!!

  • I agree with you. Most never stand behind the yellow line. They love to hang over the edge, talking on the cell phone, looking at their watch, like it's going to make the train come into the station any faster.

  • Again i blow before a station and as needed to protect me against stupid people and lawsuits. after 13 years as a engineer i think i know what i am talking about. i also go speak to schoolkids as a representative of operation lifesaver.Regardless of what you think people on train platforms can be quite absent minded and unaware.

  • Dude, blow your train's balls off, just blow it before you get to a station platform

  • hhp664, what is the process to becoming an Amtrak engineer, specifically on the NE Corridor, for someone like me who has no experience in the rail industry? Is it a fairly long one? I don't know if I'd ever do it, but I'm just curious.

  • type in "Acela southbound" and you'll get all those videos of the Acela through Kingston RI

  • I hope it scares people so maybe they will pay attention and not get hit. We blow horns to alert people and things and nowadays people are on a mental vacation while waiitng for a train

  • It scares people
