Snoohi i agree with you on some things but not all. It is always ok to play scales and arpeggios or however the hell you spell it, when you are soloing and can't find anything else to play. One of the basics of improv is using the SCALEs improving on the SCALES MELODY OR Both more improv around the SCALEs or MELODY!! However i do expect more out of a high school band with there assumed more mature knowledge of jazz and in extention music.

Who arranged this. Im not asking for the creator but the arranger, because i know this is not arranged by coltrane. You guys aren't playing all the 16th notes originaly in the peice. who arranged it

what the hell was the trumpet improv? NO SENSE AT ALL! alto sax too, he was just playing the scales up and down, tenor was a little better, but overall was pretty good.
