I would SO hook my PSP to this unit, my ipod is collecting dust due to a shitty battery and interface (itunes). BTW that music is cool, nice & relaxing,

Hahaha, a cheap cd player hooked to a quality machine.

I absolutely love this song. What makes it even more mystical is that it's being played on a vintage Magnavox....

Thanks. And a great collection of record players on your channel. I'll be surfin' through the videos for a while.

Very good for bass demonstration.
I would use my Fisher SLIM 1400 so you could see the CD spinning. So far, I've posted a few videos of that unit.
I've posted most of my record videos on YouTube AND Google Video. The descriptions would read something like "Download it from Google Video to get the stereo sound". Besides stereo, you could post videos longer than 10 minutes using the Google Video Uploader.
That'll be up to you, I just thought I let you know that.

Thanks. I keep forgetting about Google Video. A buddy of mine uploads his videos there. I should look into it. MySpace keeps them in stereo too. I got a couple things posted there.

Cool! I assume you somehow jumped the output of the CD player to the inputs of the Magnavox amp? Interesting idea. I think your Magnavox is such a nice piece of vintage machinery it is fine as it is. CDs are great, of course, but Vinyl isn't dead. It's fun and nostalgic to watch these old machines work. One question: record players were optimized for the RIAA curve, but CD players don't need this, so would the output of the CD be driving the Magnovox amp incorrectly?

Yup. The EQ is off, but I'm catching it all through a mic so as long as it's anywhere in the neighborhood it seems to work. I just set the bass at minimum and accept the flaws.
