Highlights from Hermeto's appearance at the Rio Loco festival in Toulouse, France (2005). He wrote a new composition for this big band, and joined them on stage.
In my opinion, even though Hermeto and Zappa didn't seem to know each other, there're strong similarities between them (odd meters, polyrhythms, complex arrangements, humorous and spontaneous stage attitudes, etc). In other words, if you like Zappa, you're likely to get into Hermeto!
(Probably I'm not the only one who likes both Zappa and Hermeto, since you can find a Hermeto thread in the the Official Zappa Messageboards.)
This composition is called "Obrigado Mestre", and it is dedicated to the great Ronnie Scott.
Thanks for posting it!
