For your mid winter viewing pleasure, here's a warmish ride on a great road in western North Carolina, shot early last fall.

  • Great video...We just got back from this area, I

would agree this is a top ride route, a must do..Loved it and all of moonshine Rt 28

  • @boatbaby123 Wayah Rd is an awesome ride for sure, but the last couple of times I was there it was a bit gravelly. Thanks for watching!

  • I must say this is one of the best on bike videos I've ever seen. A camera inside the helmet really works well. No howling wind, just enough bike sound to be pleasant, and the commentary doesn't sound like a weather reporter in a hurricane. I came to this video to find out what Wayah Rd was like, and I couldn't have found a nicer introduction. Well done!

p.s. I like the wristwatch on the instrument cluster, I do that too!

  • Thank you for the kind words!

Yeah, my old Kodak v570 does a good (enough) job of muting wind noise, while still allowing my voice and some engine sounds to come through nicely. Not the greatest video quality out there, but decent enough for the YT format.

The Wayah road is a real treat. Hope you get to ride it some day.

You are the first viewer to notice, or at least comment on, the wristwatch. A tab of velcro, a 15 dollar watch, and we're good to go!

  • Nice reminder of what summer is like. I'm looking forward to spring so much. Haven't been on the bike since mid October.

  • I actually got pretty lucky with the weather on this trip. It was early in the fall, and turned out to be just about the last full week of pleasant riding conditions in those mountains before the really chilly stuff settled in. I'll probably head down there a bit earlier next time.

  • Thanks much! I hope that you and the Goldwing manage to get down (up, over?) that way. You'll have a blast for sure!

  • Great video. Very well done. I am hoping to get my Goldwing back there next year and ride that road and a lot more. Thanks for sharing.

  • Thanks for the comment!

The USA is pretty big, and there are a lot cool places and roads to explore, but western North Carolina is pretty hard to beat. Some of the best riding and scenery to be had, and all within a relatively compact area.

It's fairly chilly where I live as well, but we'll be warming up shortly! :)

  • Great ride + great bike + fantastic scenery = Joy!.

Of all the areas in the USA I've seen on here this always looks the best. I'd love to blast through there on a bonneville or better still a thruxton one day. Oh well, back to commuting 50 miles a day in below zero + wind + rain + snow!

    Love it!
