thanks for that ....tried to get a look at what chords you were playing i'm at work in melbourne OZ 10 o clock sat morn 16th oct just hapen to work in a large radio station so im off to the rec studio to try this on the concert grand yamaha hope it works off to see john cale tonight another opportunity to drool over a genius and regret my mortal shortcomings

Really enjoyed this post. You've nailed the chords (tone cluster?) perfectly. Well, to my ears at least, i don't have the sheet music. Love the section starting at :55.

That is just sooo cool. Wish I'd have developed my playing skills to that level.
I was learning the Mu chord structure when I finally got a full-time yob several years ago, so with a 60-hour-per-week gig, I couldn't learn the chords to all my fave Dan songs.
I envy your abilities, logo.

oh thats just fantastic... i mean having heard TOOM perhaps a 1000 times, and adoring it above all but perhaps 20 songs of all time, it's so much more fun now to hear someone explain the song in words... seems the song isnt complete without that additional dimension -- behind the curtain.. fagen does something like this on his video for peg and josie, but frankly that was a bit too esoteric.. would love to hear more music theory and execution detail...could listen to the whole catalog this way
