Geoff Page, Musician and Writer
The students of Dr Knox's Private Academy of Anatomy gather to learn from the famous surgeon and inspirational lecturer whose ground-breaking research is changing the face of modern medicine.
However, there are sinister happenings in the background, as Knox enlists the help of two students, William MacFarlane and Alfred Fettes, to provide him with a regular supply of cadavers ready for dissection. Bodies are stolen from graves and even recovered from the gallows to provide Knox with the fresh materials he needs.
But the demand for bodies continues to grow, and Fettes becomes increasingly desperate for money so that he can buy a stunning diamond engagement ring to win the heart of the girl he loves: the beautiful Isabella Knox.
Fettes finds a creative solution to the problem, but one that leads him further and further down a path of despair and destruction.
Based on the historical events surrounding Dr Knox's involvement in the West Port Murders of Burke and Hare, and the short story "The Body Snatcher" by Robert Louis Stevenson, this musical drama will keep you laughing, crying, shrieking, and perched on the edge of your seats until the final curtain falls!

Hope all goes well with the run at the Mumford Theatre, Cambridge UK, in September. And all the best for when you take the show to Germany and (hopefully) the Edinburgh Festival 2009.
