We are very fortunate and privileged to be able to film some extraordinary creatures for, and on behalf of, Howletts and Port Lympne Wild Animal Parks in Kent in the South of England, for their promotions, websites, social networking sites and their Television commercials.
A registered charity, the parks were founded by the late John Aspinall with the aim to protect and breed rare and endangered animals and release them to protected areas in the wild when it is safe and possible to do so.
To date The Aspinal Foundation have returned 51 gorillas to protected areas of the wild. Of these animals, 43 are wild-born orphans from confiscation and rehabilitation
programmes, and 7 were born at Howletts and Port Lympne. In 2008, a further 3 hand-reared gorillas were sent to Gabon from Howletts for eventual release into
the wild. In 2004 the first ever infant was born at TAF's projects to a gorilla that had been reintroduced to the wild.
The Aspinall Foundation's Port Lympne and Howletts Wild Animal Parks in Kent were set up by the late John Aspinall to be centres of excellence for animal husbandry within
which to protect and breed threatened species, with a view to returning them to the wild wherever possible.
The Aspinall Foundation, which manages the parks, is today a world leading conservation charity dedicated to keeping John Aspinall's innovative conservation ethos
alive- leading the way through education, captive breeding and reintroduction. The Aspinall Foundation has projects both in the UK and overseas, including Java, Madagascar, Congo and The Gabon. Working in conjunction with the parks, The Aspinall Foundation has so far returned to protected areas of the wild Przewalski's horses, Black
rhino, Cape buffalo, Burmese pythons and gorillas.
This was filmed at Port Lympne, home to the largest group of captive bred Western Lowland Gorillas in the world. The mixed group are housed in the impressive Palace of the Apes, whilst the males are kept in the bachelor enclosure, where all of this footage was shot.
These are truly incredible animals which, thanks to the programmes at Howletts and Port Lympne, aim to to protect and breed rare and endangered animals and release them to protected areas in the wild when it is safe and possible to do so.
If you are ever in this part of the world, and care about animals, then there is no finer animal park to visit.

Dislike. Most of these shots are of the other gorillas who live with Ambam. He was only in the video for a few seconds. Annoying that they named the video after him, as though he were the main subject.

Incorrect. Whilst it is true that he is only standing for a few seconds, he features in a LOT of the other footage.
