Riding a Bus in the Rainy Season!

Riding a bus on rural, dirt roads in the rainy season is an adventure and not for "on-time" people. This video was taken after leaving my wife's village on the way back to Vientiane. You have to give the bus drivers and their helpers credit, as they do not give up. "I think I can, I think I can, I think I can!"

The village northwest of Vientiane. . You don't need to be too concerned because transportation like this is the norm, and although the buses are old, rusted and rickety, 99% of the time the bus driver and crew are extremely competent and you can see from this video we all had to get out and walk up the hill and not take a chance with the bus sliding off the road.

laos have poor poor road, when the rainy season come all the road very poor cars and buses can not go no where.. only 4x4 can go on the poor road......

One hill down so many to go and the next one seems steeper. How I wished the commies government would invest in the road system instead of self serving to all the tourist moneys. The road system sucks big time during raining season.

Where did the driver gets license from?

the road was muddy bad and bus was trouble to runs

This driver is very stupid! If the bus don't come on, switch to reverse to get more packages! If you get bad road, place off-road tires!

wow that driver just didnt giv up but he could've damaged the engine with that constant skiddin tryin to get up but what the hey he made it and yes the passengers and people around should've come out and push the bus instead of just stickin thier heads out the window

İf we have same problem in Türkiye,all passengers push the bus until the top of hil than go.Waiting don't solves problem.

They need more chains on all the rear tires.  happy to report that most roads in Laos are now paved especially the ones between the major cities.
