Why aren't we donig the same thing? Because we are spending trillions a year trying to control the world. Great job Obama, you not only remained in Iraq and Afghanistan doing exactly what Bush was, you proceeded to start bombing Yemen, Somalia, and Libya too. Those missiles cost a shitload of money that we could be using on infrastructure. Actions speak louder than words.

So because safety standards are expensive, are you suggesting we abolish them? Regulatory agencies exist because private industry has repeatedly proven beyond a doubt that they cannot be trusted to do the right thing if left alone to their own devices. Expensive to implement safety regulations, yep, but if they weren't so intent on making more money for their shareholders, there wouldn't be hardly any regulation at all.
