@Far7anR : I have been to Dr Leung Jan's Apothecary in Foshan and have visited Leung Jan's school and house in Gulo Village. I have spent many hours with Leung Jan's grand srudent, GM Fung Chun, but not much has been said about him. If you go to the jee shin wing chun forum you will see some manuscripts on wing chun and medicine, and passed doen to his son, Leung Bik. I have translated his writings. These manuscripts may have some dates on them, indicating when he learnt medicine.

Do you know how hold Leung Jan was when he began Wing Chun? I am a medical student and a wing chun student, and I have sort of adopted him as my role model, haha. I ask because I hear so many contradictory stories about his birth dates, death dates, etc. I hear that he began around 1840, and went back to take over his father's clinic right after his father died. However, if Leung Jan really was born in 1826, he would only be 14 when he began wing chun, so when did he learn medicine?

@styrofoamned: Gulo was inundated by a massive floods during the 50's, which wiped out everything including all books, photos and references, so unfortunately, Leung Jan's grave is not known by anybody. Cheers.
