I decided to move up to an eIPS display after reading some many great things about the technology. After a direct comparison to my existing TN display, the differences are very noticeable.

Please note that I do say LED display at one point during the video but I meant LCD. This is NOT an LED backlit display. Sorry for any confusion.

  • How do you like watching movies on your Dell?

  • @wrangleroooo I actually never watch movies on the screen but I do watch some HD online content and edit HD video. I have had the screen for over a year and still love its performance.

  • How big is the second screen? 19"?

  • @BrutalTurtle close, it's a 20" Samsung from 2005 or 2006.

  • is this monitor still holding up well? thinking about getting the u2410?

  • @illibball087 the monitor is still going strong :)

  • @avocadomilk2010 sorry for replying so long after ur comment but i would go with Dell 22" cuz i heard had better angles and colors in overal.

  • I use HP ZR24w and i think its best in his price. To the maker of movie: You play WoW ur cool :)

  • Thanks man, excellent demonstration, it has pretty much convinced me to go with one of Dell IPS models. For under half the price I could get a larger budget monitor by HP or BenQ, but it doesn't make sense to me why people are prepared to spend so many hundred on a system, but then skimp on the monitor when that is what they will always be viewing it through.

Aesthetically I also like the rectangular base and clean lines. IMHO round bases always throw out the look of a computer rig.

  • Quick review :)

    + Great response time

+ Great viewing angles for whites/colours

    + Good backlight bleed

    + Good black levels

    - Very narrow viewing angles for black (it's worst feature imho)

  • The 2209WA costs only about USD15 more than the U2311H here in Malaysia.

Which one should I go for?

I use my computer mainly for movies, and some music production and web design.

Should I give up color reproduction for the extra real estate or vice versa?

  • OFF: You gonna use that hammer for the second screen ? :)

    ON: Great review

  • the LG also has HDMI.
