"Sierra Fly-Fishing" is an episodic instructional fly-fishing show that features the rich and diverse world of fly-fishing in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. We explore these waters with Guy Jeans as our guide. Guy is the owner of Kern River Troutfitters Fly Shop and Kern River Fly Fishing Guide Service located in Kernville, CA. He teaches us the varied techniques for a successful day on the river, tailored to each location and condition. Vol 2 focuses on fly-fishing the Kern River in the Golden Trout Wilderness. The Kern Drainage is home to three of California's wild native heritage trout; the Golden Trout, Kern River Rainbow, and the Little Kern Golden Trout.

  • @spendizzzle There are enough wild trout there to produce an exciting day of fishing.

  • Fantastic!

  • It is a cool place to get a way. I have you tried up near Bishop, CA? Lots of Browns and Rainbow in the Spring. Upper Owens River can be very good.

  • ya but also does the fact that they dint stock anymore make it much more difficult? i want to see dfg stocking that place before i decide to go

  • From what I have learned, it seems to have much to do with the "flow" of the river. If it is too high and moving too fast, it is very difficult to catch fish. With that said, the Spring can be very productive, as long as the run off is not to big. By calling the local fly ship-they should be able to provide accurate river/.fish information.

  • hey man i have a question to ask u. i went up in the late summer and it was really hot, and there was alot of carp. i only caught 1 kern river rainbow at johnsondale bridge. is it alot better during the spring? and do u guys go up farther than johnsondale bridge? thanks man i really want to know!

  • that was awesome, ive never really had a rise that great

  • I loved how that trout took your fly at 2:10.
