  • Another point my friend we must remember we are not Lee what worked for him will not work for us ,he was so fast and strong and a intence one of a kind ,adding other arts is a good thing Lee added arts as well but took out what he didnt like. I have tested my JKD over n over and still do I had to toss out some stuff that Lee has done cos it got me hit but I have put more savate and Silat to where I lacked and the ground I use a blend of silat BJJ and it works for me .

  • True JKD isnt learning 20 styles but it is about research, but as you said they dont get it . Those who practice JKD maybe 1 out of 100 who might get it is the reality. But I have found over the years alot of JKD folks are afraid to put them selfs in learn spots such as getting there butts handed to them by other styes, hence discover your own ignorance.Today we are lucky we can test our skills to a point in cage fighting where u can go all out and bang that is what I do with my guys n we do well.

  • To know JKD one must train in it then tear it down and make it yours,Bruce was amazing thats a fact but he passed in 1973 he never had the chance to role with BJJ guys ,nor do a dog brother fight and so on..Heck he told Inosanto to check out Silat why was that ? JKD shouldnt stop like a stale pond and be bound in 1973..lets not make the mistake and force JKD to become a tradition because of egos and false loyalty..walk on my friends and enjoy the huge world of Martial arts ,its a great voyage

  • @manjined..Perfect ..well said!

  • combat is what it is ..as Lee said an those who I have been trained with who have trained with the maqn himself..to knock someone out is easy just reach out an knock um out..look at cage fighters those boys can take a hit and keep on comming ,fighters have changed and are meaner stronger and in better shape than ever before ..change is part of life and is what true JKD is ..nothing more or less..just a name dont fuss over it.. now lets get off our soap box and train!

  • Who knows what Lee would being saying today nor does it matter, he wasnt "the way" he was a helper to find our truth ,I have been a instructor in JKD for more than 17 yrs and for what I have seen has been sad and very good as well,BJJ is just a newer path we all should get into ,remember Judo Gene Lebell took Lee down in a Judo throw and that helped Lee see his own weakness..let the path go on and all of us finding our truth in combat.. keep on flowing!

  • Jeez, doesn't anybody talk about the technique and content of the video? you would almost think there wasn't anybody actually researching for their training. Anyway, like your stuff Keith, got a few god drills so far. You and I could have a good time talking about training for cage matches...

  • excellent vid can never watch enough stuff on practical application. Thanks

  • blah blah blah Keith jajajajaja

    good video... saludos oscar paisano!!

  • @MartialSkeptic I agree with you here. But, why does everyone view this in such a negative light? Everyone, including the founder HIMSELF, profited off of using his name and the art. Bruce Lee used his own to profit. Whether it be in movies or explaining his principles. Should we now scorn him like they do Guro Dan? Oh, no; he's Bruce Lee. This argument about profiting has jumped the shark. It is no longer valid. Everyone uses Bruce Lee's name to profit, even Bruce Lee himself, when he was alive

  • @MartialSkeptic ...without being JKD. Does that make any sense? No, of course not. JKD is a solid, tangible thing. It is an ART that DOES exist in MANY forms. People will have to learn to accept the fact that it does exist and it HAS evolved and changed. Bruce Lee is dead -- Dan Inosanto, after going through a very rough time -- decided to not let JKD die with him. Other 1st generation students followed suit...

  • @MartialSkeptic JKD is an art of principles. But, it is still a martial art. You can't talk your opponent to defeat, you must strike. JKD works really well in self-defense and mostly adheres to simplicity, etc. Most philosophy guys share your point of view that nothing can "be" JKD. And, as far as I'm concerned, that is semantic circular logic. Pretty much saying, quite simply, although it looks like JKD, smells like JKD, and tastes like JKD, it is NOT JKD. Why? Because no one can be JKD without

  • @majined 2ND GENERATION-- I'm sorry, mis-thought. Haha...

  • @MartialSkeptic ...different to Guro Dan? That's because of personal expression. More so, as the quantity increases of Jeet Kune Do practitioners, the flavor is going to change. Look at 1st Generation students Jerry Poteet, Ted Wong, and Dan Inosanto. They all move differently.

  • @MartialSkeptic I think he has the right to call it Jeet Kune Do -- the art that he practices; note, he never stated JKD in the video referencing the technique. First, he's trained for long enough to earn Instructorships under Sifu Vunak and Sifu Tackett -- who are inherently very different people. That, in my mind, makes him a qualified instructor in JKD; also, that makes him a 3rd Generation student. Obviously, everyone's flavor is a bit different. Notice how Sifu Vunak moves completely...
