Part Three:
The First Month [2], Symptoms and Recovery, answering "How are you?" is like answering "What's The Godfather About?"

This video, You Look Great! Inside a Traumatic Brain Injury, tells the story of trying to recover from an injury that in some ways is invisible to the outside world. My hope is that fellow sufferers find comfort that they are not alone in their injury, and that they learn ways of describing what theyre going through to their families, friends, and caregivers.

  • You did a wonderful job of presenting this information. Unfortunately for me, I am unable to watch more of it, because of my own TBI. Interruptions with old clips visually and auditory, entertaining for most everyone, but I cannot follow as it is too hard. Your descriptions moved me to tears, and I so identify with so much of them. Thank you and your son for this work.....I will send it on to my family who has not been able to understand. Maybe it will help.

  • @shegreer Thanks for your encouraging note, and I'm sorry to hear you found it hard to watch. We did try to make the video as engaging as possible, and communicate a LOT of information entertainingly, but the downside is that someone with a TBI will be overwhelmed by it. Stay tuned bcz I'm almost done with this book that greatly expands on the information in the video: "You Look Great!" -- Strategies for Living Inside a Brain Injury. I wish you all the best in your continued recovery.

    John

  • Your son did ALL this video? Very nice. You'll get ANOTHER 5.0 from me, John.

Yes, worrying about getting BETTER is important. But what about keeping IT from happening AGAIN?

You must know, John. It's ME! I will make the most profound change in The 21st Century. Stats will change, humans will LIVE longer like never before, ALL over The World!

  • Thanks for the top rating, I appreciate it. Yup, Chris is one talented guy all right.

As for your note, I'm all for prevention. One person can make a huge difference.

  • I so identify with your situation...It has been extremely difficult adjusting to my new life with a TBI. It has been 2 1/2 years since my accident...It is reassuring to hear a similar story, although i am sorry that you have and your son have gone through this. I am using my computer skills to push for TBI EDUCATION and I hope to go "on the road" with same targeting first responders who often have interaction with people with TBIs and misread the behaviors, such as staggering, belligerence, etc.

  • Recovery- nice.

Looking forward to the next part.

  • i wish my mother could see this
