While on location for the Easter stage play "The Bride" WHMG.TV got a chance to speak with multiple award winning gospel singer and producer Fred Hammond. Fred took the time to give us a glimpse into his new solo project which deals with love relationships entitled "God, Love, & Romance."

The failure to address the issue of intimacy as a whole (not just sex) from God's point of view is precisely why marital dysfunction runs even higher statistically in the church than in the world.

No need to debate, but I submit to you two questions to ponder: if God did not mean it to be addressed, why was it placed in the Bible? And if you do not approve of Fred's approach to the subject matter, do you have a better way to get God's message across here?

  • He is just so REAL. That's what I love n respect. Don't water it down, don't exaggerate n don't sweep it under the Christian rug! Fred is awesome!

  • @allybald Uh huh, so what Scripture would you use to lovingly encourage a fellow believer to quit smoking for example..."Thou shalt not smoke"? That's not in there either.

But seriously I draw the conclusion from James 2:14-17. Be blessed!

  • @DaBlackhand1975 "Being so heavenly minded you're of no earthly good"?? is that in the Bible??...if its not in His Word...its obsolete.

  • i think he has a point....since when is it NOT spiritual to be romantic? I've seen people so concerned about being spiritual they forgot to be human....what's that about?! Being so heavenly minded you're of no earthly good, where does that get you?

  • @jimboski65 Nah, Fred has found out that ministry actually is outside the 4 walls of the church. Yeh he's got earrings but so what. How many people has accepted Christ through his music. Many people won't go inside of a church because people judge them for what they wear, how they talk, etc.. If we are the Body OF Christ...

  • I just love this......oh soooo REAL,,that's what is needed everywhere....

  • Another so-called artist that has found a way to test the waters of secularism and package it as gospel. Years ago this man would have never sat there with two earrings in his ears. Whatever happened to the world wanting to transform to the image of Christ via the church instead of the other way around?.
