@worldgoingtozero There's less senators than congressman... 100 senators, and 300+ congressmen. (2 senators for each state, whereas the congress scales over time based on population) Hence senators are more powerful but also more contested seats. You could also ask why isn't Ron Paul the president? Well, he tried, but didn't quite make it.

I don't understand much about american politics but why would ron paul be in the house of reps. instead of being a senator? given that Peter always says the amount of influence and power one senator can have.

focus21 has been listening to Peter for awhile and is coming around to understanding him. I just think he/she is just very apethitic from previous government politicians lying to the voters and is very skeptical of Peter's agenda and intent. I don't blame him.
