@bazeye The Avengers was in a class of it's own...and very popular for it's 'far-out' notions.

@bazeye it's called quirky bazeye - suspension of disbelief.

The creators of this show must of thought the audience were 6 years old to serve up rubbish like this, thank god for The Prisoner and Patrick McGoohan to show how to make a hip spy thriller with brains.

I always had a crush on Mrs. Peel! Still do!

@MrsEmmaPeel07 SCANDAL is quite good. It works on many different levels and there's plenty of commentary in there about Britain in the early 1960s. It's loosely based on facts, the acting is top rate, and if you like sharp looking females who are wily and different, you'll get an eyeful here! Unfortunately, Christine Keeler's life was quite ruined. Mandy went on to a fabulous life, career and marriage in Israel and wrote some good novels!

@MrsEmmaPeel07 I dunno, I've done some crazy things. I infiltrated a lotta places and spied on 'em. It was very dangerous, especially organized crime, banking, government agencies, big corporations. I may be kind of a thrill freak. Whenever something really terrifies me, I have to go do it until I am no longer fearful of it. xo

@MrsEmmaPeel07 I seem to be a man-magnet, and don't even really like them, generally. (Sometimes females try to possess me, too.) I can only speak for myself, but I have taken crazy risks because that's my warrior personality. I'm sort of like the Viking wife who gets given the keys to wear, does the serious stuff while the little man goes and plays, maybe never comes back, ha ha ha! xo

@MrsEmmaPeel07 It's an interesting character, to be sure. The smart women get married. Always have, always will. She also knew how to delegate, another good sign. She kind of reminds me of Simone de Beauvoir, who was actually a rather horrible person, but did her own thing, as did Marlene Dietrich (another monster -- had a friend who knew her and her family well). The Emma character had many angry suitors, remember? All want to possess such a woman, and only polyandry works.

@slobomotion I'm just letting you know that I wasn't arguing or disagreeing with you earliar over this topic about Emma. I do love your theory on that she could be a risk-taker and thats maybe why she took that job. It's just sometimes hard to believe that someone like Emma would just use Steed's career as a cover up for her hurt feelings for Peter. Yes I agree. There are a lot of woman out there who do take crazy risk, because they are sad. Emma could be one of them. :)
I think Patrick and Diana had the best chemistry, that's why the shows with MRs. Peel are such standouts. Always had a bit of a crush on Patrick.
