Vladimir Lenin's Speech About Food Tax (1921)

Товарищи!

Благодаря замене разверстки продналогом, у крестьян должны остаться теперь, при среднем урожае, сотни миллионов пудов хлебных излишков. Эти излишки крестьяне имеют право по закону употреблять совершенно свободно, по их собственному желанию для улучшения своего питания, откорма скота и для обмена на продукты промышленности. Свободный обмен хлебных излишков на продукты промышленности усилит интерес крестьян к улучшению своего земледельческого хозяйства, если усилить дело этого улучшения посредством развития всяческой промышленности, дающей необходимые для крестьян продукты.

Было бы всего лучше, если бы поскорее удалось полностью восстановить крупные фабрики и заводы, а равно железнодорожные и водные перевозки. Тогда можно бы было доставить крестьянам быстро и дешево множество необходимых продуктов промышленности и толи, и керосина, и мануфактуры, и обуви, и земледельческих орудий, и удобрений. Но для быстрого восстановления крупной промышленности нужны большие запасы топлива и продовольствия в городах, а этих запасов столько собрать и привезти мы не в силах. Поэтому надо, наряду с работой сбора и подвоза таких запасов, начать немедленно работу развития и всемерного поощрения мелкой промышленности. Она может и должна дать крестьянину немедленное улучшение его жизни и его хозяйства без больших государственных запасов сырья, топлива, продовольствия.

Пусть же все партийные и советские работники хорошенько поймут и старательно исполнят свой долг всяческое поощрение и развитие мелкой промышленности, полезной для крестьянского хозяйства.

WE DO TAX FOOD HERE TOO!!!. Just kidding, comrades we only tax the gasoline that delivers the processed food, the farming subsidies that allow food to be cheaper than if sold at market prices,. We tax also the sales of the food for National, State, & local taxes revenue,, WHOOPS.

@BENNYSIEGEL90 Good observation, there was a legitimate reason Hitler referred to "that gang of criminals in Moscow." I have read that many ex-Party officals in former Warsaw Pact countries have gone on to continue their careers under capitalism, untouched and unanswerable. I don't think matters would be as easy for ex-NaziParty members. In fact they're still hunted while Soviet-style criminals live freely and comfortably. In the meantime, Che Mao and Lenin are still cool, go figure.

At least one can say for Rommel's defense is that he never commited any war crimes no matter what war he fought in. Same applies to a whole bunch of other Heer officers. Red Army had way more murderers in its ranks during WW2. Zhukov and Konev looted. I would have understand if these two had fought against foreign troops in the civil war but to kill your own compatriots and join the bolsheviks is something one can't understand.

Ironic that a demogogue debutante like Lenin would pretend he had any affinity with the working class. Perhaps many of the proletariat were uneducated and gullible. After Kronstadt they were enlightened but not soon enough to keep them out of Solovki. There, if they remained alive, they worked for bread and borscht; so much for the Guardian of the Working Class. Things worked out though, by the end of his life Lenin had everyone in Russia working for him.Cheka thugs eliminated unemployment.
