interesting tip but shouldn't we be tightening them bolts across from each other, like everyone else teaches?
-
If you just do this and make no other adjustments, isn't that the shells lowest possible pitch? Similar to bob gatzens bass drum tuning method?
-
@hughdavis1985 obviously to save time

@hughdavis1985 don't be such an ass, it is possible to tune fast like that, i've done it (gets much harder with single ply heads though..

Notice at 1:16 the video cuts, suddenly the drums tuned perfectly.... joker
-
its bad to not go in a star pattern that can warp the drum

The Ruffles will disappear quicker if there is Onion Dip! lol ,.. just kidding of course! great tips! I bet those drum heads make it even easier to tune too! I have yet to try these, I am partial to the G2 Coated heads, but next time I buy my heads I am gonna grab these and give 'em a go! they sound amazing and I have heard only good comments about them. Cheers! and Happy Drumming :)

Shouldn't he be going to the opposite lugs while he turns his drum key? It would seem to me that you'd be more likely to get an uneven head or lug tension going around the drum instead of going to opposite lugs, particularly when bringing the head up to a resonant tension.
