Last Chance Travel Staycation Station Virtual Vacation Video Mix

Created for Last Chance Travel--"a temporary mock travel agency in Seattle, Washington that specializes in tour planning and advice for travelers in a post-climate change world. Our aim is to educate the public about the ongoing effects of global climate change on special places around the world. Part gallery, part performance, Last Chance Travel uses art, interactive installations, and informed dialogue to further the conversation about climate change."

This mix was used in the "Staycation Station," which lets visitors go on a virtual vacation in a cubicle outfitted with chaise longue, tropical plants, rum cocktails, and ambient video.

The films used were shot in Seattle (the clouds, of course), Alberta (raging rivers and waterfalls), the Pacific Northwest and abroad (all the sparkly water stuff--rivers, lakes, pools, ocean), and Lanai (the spinner dolphins of Hulopo'e Bay).

Kudos to Last Chance Travel's creators, Sarah Kavage and Nicole Kistler. Their project was open in Seattle from Nov 17 - Dec 20 2011.
