Guillotine, guard recovery, armbar to omoplata sweep to north south to mount, in the first minute? ??
Uno is a warrior, JJ is one of the masters.
Uno is fighter who is hard to submit. But true defense in Grappling starts before the attack starts, their neutral position is so skilled that they avoid all submissions. JJ did not have a single submission attempted on him once in the match, his defense was vastly superior because zero submission attempts were made against him. JJ made this look ez !

@dsarkissian I try not to think either way, cause thats how you under/over estimate an opponent. I do know what you mean though

@BJJALLDAYNIG You are absolutely correct about this, but Uno staved off the inevitable pretty well, let's face it you don't get to ADCC finals by being a slouch. But have you ever had a roll where as soon as you engage you just "know" you are going to be shut down. Like myself, a purple belt, when I roll with my instructor I just know that my moves aren't going to work and I can tell this as soon as we shake hands or engage in a clinch etc. I can also tell if I am going to steam roll someone 2.

@dsarkissian just gonna throw this out there, uno was never in any position to submit, cause you cannot submit from inside the guard, on bottom in side mount or regualar mount, or when someone is on your back. Thats not good defense by machado, its good offense, which keeps uno on the defense. Good offense=best defense

Machado is simply awesome! A monster from heaven. Notice how the entire fight he never simply relaxed and flowed. "Combat ballet" I call it.

utterly fantastic

@hkdlion He is so methodical, it’s like he’s filling out a form for a bank loan. At the beginning he looks like he’s in trouble, then he turns it on and mounts him. Speechless.

I used to train there for 50 bucks a month. It was such an honor to be able to walk through the doors of some of the greatest submission fighters ever.

@jasonkimura holy hell! that's awesome. they should have kept them

Very entertaining match. Incredible pressure from Machado. Constant attacking. Pretty crazy.
Are the drummers in the same building or is it a recording?

They're in the building. The live drumming stopped once the event left the UAE.
