  • my favorite baseball player. Paul didn't take any shit either.

  • @jkmlight 40 AL pennants 27 WS wins 17 AL east titles. Pirates won by one run in the 9th inning of the 7th game. Congrats. We looked for you the following year. Whaa-happen? Oh... the Reds kicked yerass before we kicked theirs! "HOW ABOUT THAT!"

  • BTW i wasnt just whistling dixie about Clemente. Saw him play in Shea against the Mets. He used to yell to the fans (in Spanish) that he was gonna throw somebody out at third or home. If it was a sac fly he would yell as the ball was in mid-air! Then he would catch the ball and nail the SOB! Later on, long after I left NY, i met a Puerto Rican guy from San Fran. His name was Fuentes and he knew Spanish. Guess what. Roberto did the same thing in Candlestick Park! He was grrrreat!

  • Anytime a sports team says small market, i think... look, sell the damn team! The Braves were a small market until Ted Turner put them on TBS. i saw them in Hawaii regularly. My Dad saw them in Arizona... before they had the DBacks. Guess what? Both places sprouted Braves fans like weeds! Same with the Cubs. You can catch a Cub game anywhere(WGN). If baseball just did their TV like football, ALL the teams would have the ability to compete.

  • i am screaming actually, i guess you just can't hear me up there. I am crossing my fingers for lemieux and burkle to buy the team, as they have already made a bid. that said, i do like the direction they are headed in with their infamous trades. we got a good outfielder from you (tabata), and a ton of prospects that will hopefully pan out. mccutchen is turning into a star, you'll hear his name in the coming years. and remember these ones to; starling marte, pedro alvarez, tabata, etc.

  • you apparently see the fun in insulting yankee fans who like derek jeter and babe ruth. i see no fun in the clowns who run the pirates dragging a once proud team through the cellar mud. Roberto Clemente was a fantastic, spectacular player and a hero off the field. Pops Stargell? The best... as a player and a man. Honus Wagner... STILL the best shortstop ever. If i were a Pittsburgher i'd be screaming. The Stillers can make it work. If the Rooneys ran the Pirates, any doubt they'd win?

  • i just don't see the fun in being a yankee fan. you can have your 27 championships, we'll take our 5.

  • golden dome... your team has been looking up the asses of the NL Central for years... and years... and years... you did get us in 1960 though! Good job. Of course we slapped the dogshit out of you in 1927. Didn't cost us $210 million either. Oops. Take me out to the ballgame baby!

  • Hey goldendome, i'd rather have 27 World Championships! Quality costs baby!
