Okay, fellow Canadian Gen-Xers, it's time for the ultimate blast from our childhood past, the ultimate brain jolt. Seeing/hearing this again for the first time in eons got me thinking about another rendition of this number: Does anyone remember being 10 to 14 and seeing a bunch of young girls who called themselves The Little Ladies performing 'Too Bad' on Chris Makepeace's old CBC after-school show, Going Great...? It had to be one of the earliest episodes (circa 1981), if not the very first.
Yes, Chris Makepeace hosted a show on the CBC (1981-circa 1985) called Going Great, which did pieces on young people who were making a name for themselves or somehow contributing to society in ways beyond their years. The Little Ladies were a teenaged singing group who did a version of 'Too Bad'. I'd love to see/hear that piece again, and I wonder whatever became of them in adult life.
I also remember a piece on another teenaged Canadian band called Destiny, who covered Sly Stone....
