In this one, we were sailing in a small wooden boat. What you can see here is their technique to "park" the boat. Some of them leave the boat when it is still not on the margin and start pulling it by the ropes until it gets to the place they want. I think the problem here is to stop a boat when the river is not a calm one.

By the way, the water here is cold as ice.

I shot these videos when I visited China, in August 2005. I stayed in Beijing, Xi An, Chongqing - from where I took a 3-days cruise till Shangai through the Yang-Tze river.

It's an amazing country! Their culture, the buddhist temples, the food... almost everything is impressive there, at least to the eyes of a Western.
Of course, this is a country that still has a lot to do in matters of Energy Policies and Human or Animal Rights violations.

I'm glad I visited the land of what many people call the "most important economic and political phenomena of our time".
