@VA24541 The tune was lifted from the University of Alabama's great fight song "Yea Alabama". ............just about the best college fight song ever!
@fieldcoach This jingle dates at least to to early 60s, maybe before. Pilot Life always sponsored the ACC game of the week on Saturdays and I recall seeing it in black & white long before 1970.
I believe that the writers of this jingle were Carson-Newman College, Jefferson City, TN, grads and were also in Phi Mu Delta Fraternaty. Please correct if wrong. They would have graduated in the early 1970's from CN.
