police violence is becoming worse, everywhere. We had a Iraq War vet beat by 3 cops in Illinois. Of coarse they were caught. if it had been any bloke, like me or you, nothing would have been done about it.

Clearly this sounds like children trying to start a fight over foolishness. The officer should have ignored the Camera and focused on her duty of finding out why she was called to the house. She was obviously worried about being filmed. This is not not a good example of how we would like the RCMP to represent our Country. Maybe they can learn from this. I hope we all improve in our approach to conflict and communication.

indeed. The police generally take the view that citizens must listen to their instructions or be subject to arrest. Often the law agrees with them.

you have to give cops some respect and breathing room when they get dispatched to see whats up with you if you are breaking a law... or not, a cops job is to bring about ballance and safety to the immediate situation. its not their job to talk philosophy or play detective... i myself do have grief with cops but that was before i realized they just aren't able to protect everyone... they dont know who you are till they are up on you and they have to treat you like you are dangerous... etc

I'm used to this type of thing from the cops here in America, but Canada? Come on, you guys have a better rep than that.

Indeed he is blowing it out of proportion. But the officers made some mistakes here. A possible Charter violation and horrible way to communicate. Some cops have the brains, and others go right to the brawn. Mistake.

They were beyond the limits of authority there actually. I found out first hand that officers can be recorded while doing thier jobs. There is no law against it. Unless he was being arrested for something else, his rights remain. Many cops are continually professional but some need courses in verbal communication (and Charter rights)
