Netroots Nation was roughly 90-95% white. So, if the Tea Party gets accused of racism because there aren't a lot of minorities showing up, isn't Netroots Nation even MORE racist since there are so many more minority Democrats?

  • I've met many racist that were black, but were not "friends" with them, only acquaintances through work or in passing. However, I had 4 friends in particular that were all white and all male. One was Jewish, the other three Christian. The Jewish friend and two of the Christians were gay. The other Christian was a married father of 2 and a school teacher. What did they all have in common though? They were all democrats who do not like black people in the slightest.

  • The liberal party is full of hypocrisy.

  • Uh, cpbostrom: Here's a newsflash: there are many, many conservatives who happen to be black that address Tea Parties as well. John's just applying the same rules to the libs that they apply to others. Just asking you to deal in reality.

  • Evidently John Hawkins didn't learn very much at Netroots. Just some of the featured speakers in 2011: Kimberly Ellis, Phaedra Ellis-Lamkins, Rep. Keith Ellison, Jeneba Ghatt, Rha Goddess, Javier Gonzales, Greg Greene, Marce Gutierrez, Maribel Hastings, Kristal High, Debbie Hines, Donald Hughes, Arjun Jaikumar, Quentin James, Van Jones, Ayofemi Kirby, Maria Teresa Kumar, A. Elena Lacayo, Judy Lubin, Toody Mafua'ofa, Zerlina Maxwell, Peggy Mears

  • Regressive control freaks never live by their own rules. It is do as i say not as i do.

  • @Canukles Well to pick on words, yours exactly would be "How does them being racist make the Tea Party less racist?" Meaning you are assuming they are. As far as Liberals, I always hear from Liberals all sorts of racist remarks thrown at black conservatives.

  • @samuils A) I never said the Tea Party was racist, he was defending the Tea Party being called racist yes, my point was how does him calling Liberals racist defend that point then, hm? He is obviously calling Liberals racists (As obvious in the title, granted it may be satire, but it's hard to tell with this guy). So by his logic, if Liberals are racist, The Tea Party is as well.

  • @Canukles I suppose its hard for you to get the point here. The same way you have accused Tea Party as racist with no backing what so ever, same way he accused you of being racist, mind you he didnt, he was simply making a point. A point that just because there are not that many blacks at a rally doesnt make that rally automatically racist

  • >Expects black people to be at obscure liberal conferences

    >Blacks are 10% of the population.

  • Dude seriously, do you EVER give ANY supporting information, evidence, legitimate statistics? Everything you say is baseless conjuncture. You're claiming that the Liberals are racists instead because they're not mostly minorities (you might want to look up the meaning to the word minorities). Also, let's say (hypothetically speaking) liberals were racist. How does them being racist make the Tea Party less racist?
