One upping the person next to you in shouting, in the name of "praise" is about as asinine and childish as it comes.
Please consider 1 Corinthians 14:40 (AMP) "But all things should be done with regard to decency and propriety and in an orderly fashion." before going on the "don't judge" bent.

There are very distinct differences in giving praise to God versus playing oneupmanship with your your pew buddy in who can shout the loudest and gyrate the most, all for the sake of the camera.

Maybe after being reminded of a particular hymn or gospel song, he is assuring that the rocks don't have to cry out in his place. Hmmm....Now I'm wondering exactly what kind of 'rocks' the songwriter was referring to.... Those rocks that sit and hinder other folks from trying to praise the Lord because they don't fit the "mold" of their particular "perfected praise" by criticizing, or just letting God be worshipped just as He deserves, the best way we know how.
