You don't have to justify yourself to anyone dude, you've done nothing wrong. You ride a bike, you make progress at every [safe] opportunity and you don't sit behind cars when you can get around them. Its got nothing to do with whether or not it is "necessary" its an absolute must. Thats part of the thrill and enjoyment of riding a motorcycle that you can do that sort of stuff....

Hi
You're right, my apologies, great vid...

I agree with nevwhile's comments. If you are going to sit behind cars, waiting till it's 'safe' and 'correct' to pass, you may as well be driving a car. Better to be in front of idiots in cars than behind them, waiting for them to sort out what they are doing.

v4 vtec sounds awsome...i got a 03, thinking of changing the cans. these sound the bizzo!

Great bike, great sound, i know, because i have a set of these cans on mine. As for the overtake, nothing illegal. You didn't overtake on the double white lines, you overtook on the section with broken lines. The hash markings are purely hazard warning and there to protect traffic turning right.

You overtake on double whites like that and your gonna die!!

Are you watching the same video? There are no overtakes on double white lines shown here.
Are you confusing the first overtake which used some hatched area with a broken boundary line- perfectly legal and safe.

He's only going to die overtaking on double lines like that if some one else overtakes on double lines like that!

Ooh forgot about this. Yes indeed its not really necessary to overtake here but I think given there was nothing coming and I had good visibility over the coming mile or so it was safe enough.
Hopefully no one would be in that space coming the other way due to the double lines on the other carriageway but you never know and I would not have gone for this if the visibility was poor. As you can see I don't cross doubles...ever :)
