Hey All,
Thanks to those of you who have subscribed, you rock!

My portuguese is bad but I'm trying to learn again!
Oh...and when I scrunch my face up (a lot) at the end of the video in my out-takes I wasn't reading, I was just trying to concentrate and remember the correct way to say things...haha

I had A LOT of fun making this video. It still makes me laugh out loud when I look at it, so many mistakes, haha Hope you guys got a little laugh out of it too! Maybe enjoyed?

Obrigada para escutando!
No final da video eu tava tentando de lembra como falar. Foi engracado, neh?

  • I'm fluent in BR-PT and you actually have a regional Brazilian accent. When people say you have or don't have an accent, they aren't being too clear...do they mean you sound like an American or a Brazilian? Because everyone from different regions of a country has an accent. You really didnt make that many errors but perhaps some w/ more confidence, you'd speak more fluently cuz you already got the rest down from what I see. Parabens, hein

  • haha, this video was one of the first that I made...I wasn't that comfortable yet (obviously)!

    Thanks for your comment!

You're right, I have an American accent when I speak portugues...and also a regional one. I learned the "northeast" accent from living in Natal, but now most people i know who speak are from the south so I am picking up some of their accent too!

After living there a year people said I did sound Brazilian when speaking, definitely not now though! haha

    Thanks for watching!

  • Good Portuguese.

Do you have accent, but you speak very well.

I'm Brazilian, and, so I can say this.

    Good Luck.

  • obrigada!!

  • I was going to ask why Portuguese. You were really lucky to go to Brasil on Rotary exchange. I applied, unsuccessfully, to do that when I was in High School. During my time at school there were several exchange students that attended. Did you have any Portuguese language skills before you went?

  • I was really lucky I agree! I am so glad I was able to have that opportunity!

I didn't really know anything before I went. I met up with this guy who was into Brazilian JuJitsu (sp??) and knew a little portuguese. I didn't have any formal classes though. So I knew things like "hi" "bye" "how are you" "thank you" and I also knew the numbers up to 20 oh and I knew some action verbs like "who, where, when, how"

The rest I learned once I got there!

  • Ur not so bad, really [:

I'm saying that because im portuguese, not brazilian [:

U trying to talk portuguese, im trying speak english :D

    Keep going, good job.

  • By the way, when you speak Portuguese your American Accent is not so strong as you think. If I had to put your accent in a percentage I would say you sound 90% a Brazilian from São Paulo. I am Brazilian from São Paulo, so I can recognize the accent you're making, and you are doing great!

  • I think your Portuguese is really good because I can understand everything you say very clear. I give you ********** stars :)

  • Your portuguese is not bad. It's much better than a LOT of people I talk everyday. You accent makes the pronunciation very cute :D

Kisses from brazil and keep trying, portuguese is really a hard language, only russian and icelandic beats PT ^^

  • How do you say sooo cute in Portuguese?? :-)
