@JohnDeereRB The movie wasn't based on a war happening, it was a Solar event, which burned a hole in the atmosphere and a portion of the planets surface, something that could happen even in our lifetime. Sadly, we do have the power to do this to ourselves, the only thing the arms agreements ever did was reduce the amount of doomsday weapons (ie; atomic, nuclear) to being able to destroy the world once over (serious overkill), instead of a hundred times over (insane super pointless overkill)
