Car Plows Into Bakery, Driver Flees

Cranston fire crews responded to 800 Reservoir Ave around 10:00pm for a motor vehicle accident. They arrived to find a car that plowed into a building. The driver fled the scene after striking another vehicle, crossing into an oncoming lane of traffic, and driving into the Rainbow Bakery. Reports indicated that Providence Police may have been pursuing the vehicle previous to the crash, however they have not confirmed that. Cranston and Providence PD searched the area for the driver who was found a short time later. According to WPRI, the owner states police told him the driver of the vehicle that crashed into the building was a 17 year old who had 2 young children in his car.
