You can wrap it up in as many lies as you wish. Foxes are vermin, we need to cull them, the fox dies instantly, and the hunt is kind to the fox. The simple fact remains certain people can enjoy a pack of dogs tearing apart a fox after it has been terrorised and run to exhaustion. What sort of morally corrupt half wit can get a kick out of animal suffering? I just wish they would stand up and say yes we enjoy watching this for entertainment.
@rambo6854 the difference is, that happens in nature, lions are natural predators and they hunt for food and survival, humans don't need to go out and rip a native mammal to shreds for fun, they don't cause the suffering for food and survival, they simply do it for pleasure
why dont you take your campaign one step further and try and covert Lions to eating egg and cress sandwiches? If anything a lion killing an implala causes far more pain than a PACK of dogs on ONE fox.....
oh and please keep some dignity and stop swearing......just because you are sitting nice and cosy behind a computer screen doesnt make you invicible.
@ajgraphix shut the fuck up about 'city and country folks' it doesn't fucking matter where people live, the concept of killing native animals for 'a bit of fun' belongs in the dustbin of history. by your idealogy we should still have slavery and women shouldn't have the vote because that would be 'letting go of old ways' to ban it
@twilightingX Haha indeed! For that you might need some dobies or rotts in the rear of the pack to help bring those monsters down. But hounds are the mightiest trackers. Too bad they will lose their edge if not allowed to continue improving their skills in hunting situations. I don't think you would like to add human attack instincts to their breeding - then they would not be the great house dogs they are now. My beagle would help me survive if we were lost in the forest. Drags are fun, too.
@NZealandKiwi The world is changing, yes, but letting go of old ways completely will leave us vulnerable - at least those of us who live on or visit the borders of forests and woodlands. Come and live here for a few years, where it is unsafe to walk outside on the porch without fear of being attacked - oh, I forget - it's like that in some cities. Maybe we should repeal the law against relocating lions ... this would give city-minded folks something else to worry about.
@NZealandKiwi I always though hunting with dogs and horses in a group with other people would an added dimension to the partnership. Wearing a helmet padded britches might even be a good idea, at that. Experiencing such a hunt would have been a premier tourist attraction for a western USA mountain gal like myself. I'm from a place where four mountain lions were just killed this past week for coming into human territory and hunting easy prey, like puppies and goats.
@NZealandKiwi I do not and will not agree with anti-hunters, most of whom have been raised in cities where wildlife is over-romanticized and depicted with smiling personages on everything from murals and books to television commercials for things like Charmin toilet paper and Coca Cola. Working with hounds on a hunt is actually a very rewarding experience. I've never hunted with them from atop a horse, though the formal hunting suits do smack of snobbishness. We wear cotton here.
