Teen host Austin Mouton participates in the Great Marsh Maneuvers Camp, where he learns about restoration of coastal marshland and its importance in preserving mainland towns and cities.
He joins youth from across the state as they not only get wet, but get downright dirty- sinking into deep, dark mud as they plant bullwhip grass in canals- to help ward off erosion caused by hurricanes and other storms. Its part wet work, part dirty jobs. He also interviews coastal marsh experts about the crucial resources present in this coastal marsh ecosystem and why preservation of these resources is so important to the entire state of Louisiana.
