Hey there!!

It's ok to give an opinion, but I think what the poster was refering to was that you look like a "TROLL" roaming around Luke and Laura sites to say how much you hate the relationship. Your opinion is not going to make fans think differently. Example, I HATE the show Friends and what they represent. I dont' go to video clips of Fiends on youtube to say how much I hate it! It's a waste of time and energy, and what you and I hate other people love. Got it??

Plus, this show was on after school was out on the east coast. Also, Christopher Cross lent his song "Think of Laura" to the show and was popular.

You might say that GH broke the mold of what a typical soap was. I was a lot younger then, but GH was my favorite. I watched the ABC soaps while Ma and G'ma watched NBC.

I guess it's like most things, you had to be a part of it to really understand it. Heck, Genie was oblivious to the following she had and left the show shortly after.

I'ts a little hard to explain, but GH was not too popular when Genie and Luke were brought on board to try to appeal to a younger audience. They wrote a rape scene into the script and then turned it around to a romance. It was controversial and hasn't always been portrayed the same since. But, I think the biggest thing is that these two really clicked together. They were very believable. And there was a big buildup after a lot of searching (literally).

Can someone please provide me some context? I do not understand why this wedding on General Hospital was so important / breathtaking...can anyone please explain?

(I ask because I read that this wedding amassed the biggest viewing audience for a Daytime TV show - and I don't understand how/why this is so significant).
