@Fimbultyr First off you state the obvious; and yes I knew that was an alien posing as her Dad; which is a ridiculous premise in itself. My criticism is not about Carl Sagan's philosophies in general here. It is about the movie and the ridiculous story line; so lets stick to the subject and go off on a Lord of the Rings safari shall we? If your going to use analogies; use ones that make sense. To quote the series X-Files; "The Truth Is Out There"; its just not in this movie!

@zenjim007 That's like complaining about Middle-Earth as a non-existent place in our world when you watch The Lord of the Rings. By the way, the contact is not her dad. It's an alien that has taken on his form, because he always had the best emotional connection to Jodie's character. Also: This movie is not about scientific correctness (altough it's pretty accurate compared to other movies). It's about the philosophies delivered by Carl Sagan.

@Fimbultyr Bro, i can honestly say as a guy, I already cried, controversy swarms through this movie, different opinions and what not subjected to much debate, but that's what makes it so great.. Im gonna revive this idea soon so be looking for it
