  • i should give an update video in about a week or so, she is about 2 times as fat now, maybe 3 times.. been feeding her dog food everyday and giving her about 1-2 adult mice per week for calcium

  • @RepNileMonitor

dog food is very bad for any reptile...

  • @DragunzGirl I was going to say your wrong, but you might be thinking of dry dog food, which you would be correct, but wet dog food in a can is good for the niles, ask any reptile specialist wet canned dog food is good for niles, helps them bulk up faster, and is still nutritious for them

  • when i have my nile in a cold bath she turns and tries to bite me and she also keeps getting out of my cage so im building one in the next 3 weeks its going to be a 6x4x4

  • @narutofroever when ou put her in the cold water leave her in there for like 20 mins then try to come pick her up, if you have to leave her in there for 40 mins, just make sure to keep her warm afterwards

  • hey man can you tell me how old that nile is??

  • @YFZ450Kid09 that nile is 1yr 1month and 20days old.. he should be alot bigger but i kept his diet down and kept him in a small cage. I changed his diet to hoppers and have him a much bigger cage.. he grew about 1ft in a month and a half

  • ok i know that a cold bath will help him calm because reptiles need heat to function properly. so his muscles are basicly locked while cold. but what YOU dont know is that a monitor needs a CONSTANT AIR TEMP of a certain degree ( 85df-95df) if not kept at that temp you will help cause food to rott inside their bellys' . which will cause respatory infection. so hopefully when you put him back into his cage he has correct air temp. and a basking area of 120df or higher. or you wont have him long..

  • I know what you mean when you said it hurts like hell, my 4ft Nile liked to hold on really tight to my head, and lick my ears. He would not just sit on my shoulder, he had to be on top of everything he used to ride on my Tegu when he was a baby, the Tegu is just so loving. He's obviously bigger than the Tegu now, so no more piggy back rides lol. Beautiful lizard bro. You should get cage that has a sliding door on the front not the top, so he feels less threatened. just my opinion.

  • LOL awsome Vid Reptiles and Warcraft can't get any better then that

  • NO DOGFOOD IS HORRIBLE IT IS MADE FOR DOGS NOT MONITORS THEY NEED WHOLE FOOD

  • @RepNileMonitor no offense man but nah u don't wanna feed your monitor dog/cat food its made for mammals not reptiles, you should stick to feeding them whole prey like crickets and rodents. yeah it does get them wider cause its supper fatty.

  • please say that nile's saliva arent contain more bacteria than komodo's....

  • @RepNileMonitor my reptile vet tells me all dog food is bad for them :\ they tell me to feed them chicken to bulk them up.

  • great tip! one of the best yet im going to give it a try tomorrow. how old was yours in this video? mines only about 4 mnths
