Thank u, Rita. Lovely Funi has a wonderful, trusting relationship w Simone...she is such a playful panda girl who enjoys interaction...she looks like her grandma Lei Lei who is now in the retirement facility f panda old timers @ Fuzhou Panda World. Simone has the best job there is! n she works hard to keep Wang Wang n Funi happy n healthy...making all those wonderful, nutritious wowotou...they love her.

I visited with Wang Wang and Funi in July '10 and while I wouldn't trade that visit for anything in the world, I'd love to be there to watch and interact with something like this. They are awesome. Simone, I am so jealous of your job, I know you do A LOT of hard work, but it would be SO rewarding!!! Thanks for sharing.

@gaiagale no, they are still bears and though not carnivores are very capable of injuring someone which, I am sure, is why she is interacting with the panda through the bars and not in her exhibit. This play probably does help them be able to care for her since she would associate being near her keeper with fun, which would make it easier for them to do anything medical they needed if the situation arose.

this is the first time that I've seen a trainer and panda interact in this fashion ...quite remarkable indeed ...I noticed that the facility has heavy duty cage doors and screens ...i'm curious to know if Pandas are always cute and cuddly
