ugh if this is free time im not buying it, final fantasy became bad right with the new free time walk around games first starting with ffx-2 which was bad since it was rushed the cut scenes great the game itself BAD! and lets not forget ff12 and its boringness...

Not trying to be rude, but FF12 received a perfect score from Famitsu n excellent scores from other reviewers, has a large fan base, claimed to be the best PS2 game of the year, n is internationally successful. I don't think that most of RPG gamers out there find it "boring".

i guess its good for ps2 i just dont think it has that edge in past final fantasy games i loved the suspence of random encounters and the easy way of exploring places, with final fantasy 12 its a bit hard. and i just dont really like the battle system and btw why do they spell magics wrong? (Magicks)

It's not a mistake. The language used in the game is archaic English. That's why some vocabularies have altered spellings or even replaced by other formal words, n the sentences' structure also changes, making the conversations even more poetic, old-fashioned, n kingdom-era-like, just like when they use "Thou" instead of "You".

Anyways, I for one am extremely overjoyed with FFXIII!

personally I love all of the games even mystic quest(as weird as it was).

So what if FFXIII is much different than past games? Be open minded about it & stop nitpicking & you'll enjoy the game alot more than you would care to realize.

@chocosora You see, my only issue with 13 was the linearity, ff 12 and those before it had minigames, different paths you could take, etc. whereas this game makes you walk through straight hallways for hours. if you like it, cool, i just personally dont. and lets not forget that the personallities of the charachters is about as shallow as an empty bucket eg:hope the angsty teenager. granted most of the series has had that kind of charachter as a party member, this one just didnt...feel right.

I dont really want this game anymore (looking forward to VERSUS though)

cuz Im not sure if I like the characters anymore. I don't really like the storyline... the huge transition between the battlefield and the idle field makes it a little worse because its not so fluid when you're running around and there's all these other things popping up and getting in your face, like monsters and extra options...

eh..

I will buy this game just to play it but I dont think it will be my fav.

hmm perhaps it has to do with the gender difference and personal preferance... ur probably a guy and i am a girl, so that may play a part but then again theye are making games like bayonetta, wet, ninjagaiden sigma 2, where the maincharactters are advertised as females so like i said its personalpreference

@Ravegirl1700 it not that i don't like them it just a hole lot hard to get into the game. play a game should be able to feel or ever lose yourself to it at time and be the person in the game. if you get me type back

Looking at this compared to the Beta in Japanese (Yes i have it) The Attack system appears to be upgradable. For instance, In the beta, you only had three bars. In this, there's five. And the moves seen fluent on this as well.

One of the square people say that she's a female rendition of Cloud. Its why they called her lightning (trying to be clever) they said they even gave her a bit of his hair style and I do see it near the end of the vid. They also say that she's going to act the same way as Cloud did in FF7 aka bad ass mercenary attitude.
