This is a little walk-around of my latest cabinet, a Mortal Kombat 1. If the wife has her say, it'll be the last. All I ever really wanted was MK1 and MK2 anyways, but I also have the Gauntlet Legends cabinet. This shipped to me from Davenport, Florida. It was about a 580 mile trip to get it here in Pickens, South Carolina. I accepted a bid from a shipper on uShip to haul it up here for me. This is a low-res video, but I have a higher-res of the following day after it arrived and the first time I powered it up to see if it worked. I will be uploading that one in the next couple of days I hope.

  • Is it hard to restore the control panel.. Is there a how to guide? And if I purchase a decicated MK cab with great artwork, but it has a different game, where do I go to purchase arcade stuff to work on it? Thanks

  • @ozzman8 You can get an original MK game boardset off Ebay for about $40-100. Tornado Terry or Twisted Quarter (search on Google) sell sticks, buttons, and etc. (They sell on Ebay, too.) Also, search "The Real Bob Robert's" for a lot of good arcade-related parts. Game On Grafix (search it) does reproduction artwork (for control panels and sideart). Not sure about a cp how-to guide, but search Google and YouTube for it, and I'm sure you'll find something or search the BYOAC forum.

  • I found a mk1 cabinet on kijiji and went to see it but it doesn't look like this.. Does that mean its not original??

  • @jameswitter It is most likely a MK kit that has been installed into a non-dedicated cabinet. They sold the board kits so operators could do this to make a profit without the cost of the entire dedicated machine. The kits could be purchased with smaller versions of Mortal Kombat artwork that could be placed on the repainted cabinets to convert them. Sometimes the entire button/joystick setup would come with a kit and even a wiring harness to make the conversion very easy to do.

  • what!? i saw this on ebay and it's like $955 or even more!!!

  • @godjason12 Yeah, I think I got a decent deal. Would have been better if it had been local though.

  • Thumbs up if you have an Arcade Room in your house.

  • @ancientwhip7 Except for when the characters are scrolling on the title screen, Kang isn't in this video anywhere. I think you need to check your vision. Johnny Cage is the character on the side of the MK1 cabinet. Liu Kang wasn't on ANY of the MK arcade cabinets.

  • @ancientwhip7 dude thats Johnny Cage.... even the creators say it is....

  • @videogamecollecto100 I always liked the SNES version (better graphics and sound than Genesis, just nerfed fatalities though), but if you ever play the arcade version for any length of time, and then replay the SNES version, you'll notice a big difference.

  • damn that is nice wish have the space and mony to buy the real arcade but the snes version of the game is pretty much the same
