Sun owned the copyright to 'Red Hot' and Billy Lee Riley's version is a prime example of a Sun artist contorting their blues and country roots into rock'n'roll. By 1958 the record had only sold 37,000 copies and Sam had told distributors to push 'Great Balls Of Fire' instead. Ok, so 'Red Hot' wasn't a hit but who cares. It remains one of the best ever Sun recordings Please excuse the camera jumping half way through the video, it's just me getting too excited as I do everytime I hear this awesome tune !
