after watching the gaza appeal im in shock how the BBC's biggest concern was impartiality! pathetic!

Quite true. Perhaps, you might say, its "selective impartiality", where they (the bbc) can cherry pick disasters.

The BBC has refused to run the DEC appeal for Gaza due to concerns about impartiality.
Why wasn't the BBC concerned about "impartiality" when they ran this appeal?

with one hands western consumers are giving money to help is an emergency after millions have died and with the other they are causing the war by buy DVD players mobile phones computers and a very longlist of other items and products that these resources end up in. what is the sense of that? are we living in a lewis carol story? if i wanted to live in an insane asylum i would have stayed in the hospital.
I believe we must be impartial. We must be biased towards the suffering, the oppressed and hurting people, whoever they are, where-ever they are and whatever they believe.
If we are not biased towards the downtrodden we are losing our integrity and compassion as human beings.
In this instance the people in Gaza need our help. Next year it may be the Israelies.
We must help those who need help now if it means showing bias towards the marginalised and oppressed so be it.
BBC & SKY = SICK!

the simple truth of the BBC gaza row is that it isn't a question of impartiality. There is no humanitarian crisis (emphasis on crisis) in israel at the moment. Yes a relatively small number of people have been murdered by the cowardly, indiscriminate attacks of Hamas militants. However, the situation on the ground in gaza is of tens of thousands of people displaced and over 1000 killed by equally indiscriminate israeli air strikes on civilian areas. this is not a political issue, but a human one
