Um no. Stormtroopers were as disposable to the Emperor and the Empire as used tissues after you blow your nose, Why waste money on good equipment for nose tissue based soldiers.

Why weren't the stormtroopers networked? If they're ambushed inside The Millennium Falcon, shouldn't an alarm go off inside the control room that two dudes in stormtrooper suits just died?
