@sopimusician666 r u retarded what ship could break through that

If the Antartica land ice never lost mass eventually all water in the world would be contained there. The fact that the East Antartic Icesheet is lossing some ice now is nothing to worry about and in itself is proof of nothing. Try getting more data before you start to scream that the sky is falling.

@TheTallRaver I think it was a channel for ships. They have entire ships devoted to breaking ice for other ships.

this ice looks as if it was cut with a razor...
this is definitely not a natural phnomenon - in normal conditions ice layers never break that way.

We all bitchabout GM but we all still live in home what require fossil fuels build, food buy computers what requires FF's to charge, cars, cloths. Everything in modern day human life. We are the problem, face it, we earth algoods, we stay....well you can see what's happening

Utter rubbish. CO2 levels have been 7 TIMES as high since mammals walked the earth. The air you exhale contains 100 TIMES atmospheric levels.

current CO2 levels are at 392 ppm, within 3 years they will hit 400 ppm, a level not seen for millions of years. global warming has the potential to defrost antarctica not in centuries or even decades but years. antarctica is connected to every tectonic plate around the world. when trillons of tons of ice are removed it will rise out of the ocean by as much as five miles and crack the earths crust. this is not a doom and gloom prophesy, this is science. we are going to need a lot ot trees.

@AUSM92 you'll find that a small thing can affect very much, such is a system sustained by cycles such as the earth.

- Loading more suggestions...
Data: NSIDC ... global sea ice increasing for past 30 yrs.
It is evident that alarmists like you are incapable of rational thought. All they can do is quote other alarmist rubbish. Stop for a minute than consider how stupid your suggestions sound:
Antarctic sea ice is increasing, therefore the earth is warming
Arctic sea ice is decreasing, therefore the earth is warming
Global sea ice is increasing, therefore it's man's fault
GO BACK TO SCHOOL AND LEARN HOW TO THINK FOR YOURSELF.

>> Antarctic sea ice is increasing, therefore the earth is warming.
NSIDC: When scientists refer to global warming, they don’t mean warming will occur everywhere on the planet at the same rate. In some places, temporary cooling may even occur. Antarctica is an example of regional cooling. Even earliest climate models projected that Antarctica would be much slower in responding to rising greenhouse gas concentrations than the Arctic.

Addition from NASA (it speaks about TOTAL ice mass in ANtarctica, not just about SEA ice):
"Gravity data collected from space using NASA’s Grace satellite show that Antarctica has been losing more than a hundred cubic kilometers (24 cubic miles) of ice each year since 2002. The latest data reveal that Antarctica is losing ice at an accelerating rate, too."
(NASA, "Is Antarctica Melting?")

@sydneydoc
>> Arctic sea ice is decreasing, therefore the earth is warming
NSIDC: According to scientific measurements, both the thickness and extent of summer sea ice in the Arctic have shown a dramatic decline over the past thirty years. This is consisistent with observations of a warming Arctic.
The area covered by Antarctic sea ice has shown a small (not statistically significant) increasing trend.

@sydneydoc
>> Global sea ice is increasing
There is SEA ice and LAND ice. And GLOBAL ICE MASS is in decline.
"Ice mass loss is occurring at an accelerated rate in Greenland, Antarctica and globally from inland glaciers. Arctic sea ice is also falling at an accelerated rate. The exception to this ice loss is Antarctic sea ice which has been growing despite the warming Southern Ocean. This is due to local factors unique to the area." ("Ice isn't melting", Skeptic Science)
