The Cuban Missile crisis was in '62
Poor JFK didn't konw what to do
But sadly he was shot in '63
Which meant the president was Lyndon B.
There were hippies in vans with needles in their hands
A bunch of funny, trippy beatles fans
Then in New York woodstock rolled around
Dylan and Joplin with their groovy sound
Martin Luther King fought for civil rights
but he didn't use violence in any of his fights
William J. Vitale wanted prayer in school
but in the constitution that is way uncool
Armstrong took a trip into space
a great big step for the human race
Everybody wanted Nuclear arms
which put the world into a state of alarm
there were a few book that were the best
like one flew over the cuckoo's nest
the 1960's as you can see
was a decade filled with monstrosity.

In Vietnam there was a war
protesters gathered from shore to shore
Kent State students stood their ground
'til the national gaurd took them down
Everybody saw the war on the news
Everybody feared that we would lose
The beatles broke up after ten years of fame
From that day on music wasn't the same
Women wanted equal rights
but struggles never come without any fights
Star Wars beat all the other movies
the brady bunch was really groovy
Lava lamps and bell bottom jeans
were common trends among the teens
Kurt Vonnegut and Toni Morrison
Mediocre Authors? Try number one.

Music television swept the nation
Madonna was an inspiration
graduation rates were going up
but the Bill Clinton scandle was corupt
Stephen King wrote scary books
Ferbies gave us scary looks
Computers were found in every home
People were texting on cell phones
Barnes and Noble got lots of pay
and made small book stores go away
A shooting occured at the columbine school
which led to new regulations and rules

Health insurance is too expensive
things that come with it are too extensive
is it a privilege or a right?
This question has caused a number of fights
universal is the way to go
but we hope salaries won't be too low
Existing conditions can be really tough
and with millions are uninsured things are already rough
we struggle with our values and want quality
but people in need don't make it easy
our plans will last longer than they did before
we hope the new plan helps america more

It's the highest judicial court
none of these cases ever fall short
of being contriversal news
it's made of nine members that we can choose
supreme court of the united states
they also go by SCOTUS. That's great.
John G. Roberts is Chief justice
He settles all cases and checks them off the list
there was brown vs. board of education
The United States vs. President Nixon
Wainwright vs. Gideon
Levenhagen vs. Corcoran
established in 1789
they take on lawsuits and federal fines
there is no minimum age
they make much more than minimum wage
you know this court is totally supreme
it helps fullfill the american dream.
